EU Milky Way

EU Milky Way is a European programme on information provision and promotion measures for dairy products. It is a three-year (2016-2019) initiative target specifically for the countries of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.

EU Milky Way is co-funded by the European Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic State Agriculture Intervention Fund (SZIF) and by the Czech and Moravian Dairy Association (ČMSM).

The Czech and Moravian Dairy Association, the proposing organization, is a professional organization which represents companies involved in the dairy industry or directly connected with this sector. With the respect to the volumes of milk produced in the Czech Republic, ČMSM members cover approximately a half of the output.

This programme focuses on stressing the importance of eating properly and in particular including EU quality dairy products in a balanced daily approach. Consumers will be informed on the valuable habits of eating milk products emphasising the high quality of the promoted products and furthermore the tradition of European milk products encouraging the target groups to try new varieties and flavours.

This programme promotes a basket of dairy products: Milk and Cream, Condensed Milk and Cream, Yogurt and Sour Cream, Curd and Cream Desserts and Cheese.

Stimulating consumption is a secondary step, which could happen only after having delivered high quality information to the target group, in particular to the consumers.
